Resistance against Occupation: Raeisi Emphasizes Victory of Palestinian Cause
“Today, the Palestine issue has transitioned from being the primary issue of the Islamic world to a global issue for all the humanity,” he said.
Raeisi made the remarks while addressing a conference titled ‘Al-Aqsa Storm and Awakening of Human Conscience’ in Tehran on Sunday.
Organized by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST), the conference opened at the Esteghlal Hotel in the Iranian capital on Sunday in solidarity with the people of the Gaza Strip, who have been under relentless Israeli attacks for 100 days.
The issue of Palestine is garnering the attention of all the “free consciences” of the world as they recognize the oppression faced by the Palestinian people.
Approximately 75 years ago, the ruling regimes of the United States and England, driven by “malicious” intentions, decided to occupy Palestinian land, Raeisi said, adding, “Throughout this occupation, they inflicted widespread destruction, atrocities, and violations on the people of Palestine and the surrounding region.”
The remarks come as the Zionist regime’s war on Gaza that began on October 7, 2023, has killed more than 23,800 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and wounded over 60,000 others.

“Two contrasting views have emerged on the Palestine issue: one advocating resistance, and the other suggesting compromise in the face of cruelty,” he said, adding while some political entities pursued negotiations and signed agreements like Camp David, Sharm el-Sheikh, and Oslo, these efforts faltered because the other side of the table was not and is not honoring its commitments.
Despite over 400 international statements and resolutions condemning Israel's actions, the Zionist regime consistently violated them without repercussions, he lamented.
The resistance movements in Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and other parts of the Islamic world have demonstrated that confronting oppression requires strength and resistance when logic, dialogue, and negotiation prove futile against tyrants, Raeisi added.
“Today, the Palestinian cause emerges victorious, while the usurping Zionist regime and its supporters stand defeated,” he said, stressing that the Zionist regime has failed to achieve its objectives.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently prioritized support for Palestine and resistance groups in its political agenda, he said, adding that this “unwavering” commitment is vocally expressed because indifference to the legitimate defense of people protecting their religion, land, and families is untenable.
“The path to ending occupation involves terminating the occupation itself, holding the occupiers accountable, and seeking reparations,” he stressed, adding that this is a universal principle in all religions.
More than 100 Muslim world figures, scholars and thinkers attending the conference will elaborate on the Jihad of the people of the Gaza Strip and the outcomes of the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation, which the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement launched against the Zionist regime on October 7, 2023.
