Similar to other Western metropolises, London has been a recurrent venue for sizable gatherings advocating an end to the Israeli regime’s indiscriminate bombardment of the besieged territory.

Tensions escalated between the police and the protesters, who took over adjacent thoroughfares after authorities thwarted their plans to traverse Westminster Bridge, where they had intended to unveil banners.

Law enforcement disclosed the implementation of a legal order delineating the permissible protest locations, and by 3 pm (15:00 GMT), individuals had commenced dispersing. Those who declined to adhere to the directive risked arrest, as per police statements.

Although Saturday's demonstration marked the first significant rally of the new year, its scale was more modest compared to earlier mass marches. It coincided with the impending return of the UK Parliament to session after the Christmas hiatus.

The protest aimed to exert pressure on politicians to adopt a more robust stance against the occupation regime in its genocidal with Gaza that has claimed the lives of over 22,700 Palestinians within the past three months.
