TEHRAN (IQNA) – Oman’s minister of foreign affairs underlined that his country is not going to normalize relations with the Israeli regime.

Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi

Speaking to the French daily Le Figaro, Badr Albusaidi said Oman will not join a few Arab countries that have normalized ties with Tel Aviv.

He said Muscat prefers initiatives that support the people of Palestine, Sputnik Arabic reported.

Albusaidi also reiterated his country’s stance on the need for fair and just resolution of the issue of Palestine.

His remarks came after a Zionist regime official calmed earlier this week that Oman will be the next Arab country to establish diplomatic with Israel.

In September 2020, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates signed US-brokered normalization agreements with Israel in an event in Washington, drawing widespread condemnations from the Muslim world.

Sudan and Morocco followed suit later that year. Palestinians have condemned the deals as a treacherous “stab in the back.”
