It said those willing to take part in the competition can refer to this website for enrolment, which will run for a month.
This year’s event will be held in 12 categories, including memorization of the Quran (at four levels), recitation, Tarteel, Quran interpretation, Adhan (call to prayer), translation of Nahj-ul-Balaqa, and translation of Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh, the ministry said.
Some of the categories have been added to the competition for the first time this year.
The contest will be organized in three stages, with the last round, namely the national round, slated to be hosted by the northern province of Qazvin.
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s National Quran Competition is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of top Quran activists from across the country.
It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.
