Winners of Quranic Research Contest to Be Honored in Egypt

Top winners of the Quranic research competition in Egypt will be honored in a ceremony today.

The ceremony will be attended by the country's Awqaf Minister Muhammad Mukhtar Guma as well as deputy Sheikh of al-Azhar Islamic Center Abbas Shouman, al-Yawm al-Sabi daily reported.
The competition on Quranic research was organized in Egypt by the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs affiliated to Egypt's Awqaf ministry.
Winners of the national Quran competition of Egypt and the Quran contest for people with disabilities will also be awarded at today's ceremony.
This year, Egypt also held the 21st edition of its international Holy Quran competition in April.
71 Quran reciters and memorizers from 46 countries took part in the contest.
The annual competition, which is one of the most prestigious Quranic events in the Muslim world, was not held in the past two years due to the political turmoil in the North African country.
