Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the Islamic Establishment aims to fulfill the causes of Islam.

His Eminence made statements on Thursday while addressing a group of people from Qom on the anniversary of the uprising of the people of Qom against the regime of Shah.

Ayatollah Khamenei said fulfilling the causes of Islam, namely humanity’s progress materialistically and spiritually is not possibly without strong faith, Basirat (insight) and staying vigilant against the enemy.

“That I have frequently said that the horizons of the Islamic Republic’s Establishment are bright is because our people have faith and insight, know the enemy and have the spirit of striving and innovation.”

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the enemies have failed to understand the Iranian nation, saying “Our enemies talks today as if the Iranian nation have thrown up their hands and surrendered because of the pressure of the sanctions. But they [the enemies] are once again wrong because this nation is not one that throws up hands as a sign of surrender.”

The Supreme Leader underlined that the Iranian nation did not surrender under much more difficult conditions such as during the 8-year imposed war.

His Eminence further pointed to the United States’ claims about defending human rights and said the US government has no rights to talks about human rights as it is the biggest violator of human rights in the world.

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to Washington’s constant support for the Zionist regime’s oppression of the Palestinian people, its refusal to shut down the Guantanamo prison despite pledges to do so, and drone attacks against innocent people in Pakistan, Afghanistan and elsewhere as some examples of the United States’ stark violations of human rights.
