Iran Ready to Transfer Experiences in Holding Quran Expos to Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A number of Iranian Quranic mangers held a meeting with the officials of the pavilion of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine at the 29th Tehran International Quran Expo.

The meeting was held on the last night of the exhibition on Friday.

It was aimed at discussing ways for transferring Iran’s experiences in organizing Quran exhibitions to Iraq.

Sheikh Hassan al-Mansouri, the Quranic advisor to the custodian of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine briefed the meeting on the first Quran exhibition in Karbala, which was held recently.

He said in order to develop and improve the expo in the next editions, the experiences of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this field can be helpful.

He added that the participation of the Astan’s Quranic activities department in Tehran’s exhibition was for this purpose.

Seyed Ali Sarabi, deputy head of Iran’s Supreme Council of the Holy Quran, referred to the organization of Tehran’s International Quran Exhibition and said in the first edition, the expo mostly focused on Quranic arts and products.

He added that it gradually developed to also showcase scholarly achievements in Quranic fields and activities to promote Quranic teachings.

Sarabi also urged that coordination and policy-making meetings be held with the participation of Quran activists and thinkers to outline the objectives and policies of the Quran exhibition in Karbala.

Another speaker was Mohammad Ali Khajepiri, a former director of the Tehran expo, who said the Islamic Republic is ready to transfer its experiences in holding 29 editions of the Quranic event to Iraq.

The 29th Tehran International Quran Exhibition wrapped up its activities on Friday.

It had been launched at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) two weeks ago.

According to Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, more than one million people visited the expo.

Annually organized by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the holy month of Ramadan, the exhibition is aimed at promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.

It showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.
