Senior Egyptian Qaris Dies

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A prominent Quran reciter in Egypt died aged 74.

 

According to mansora2day website, Sheikh Muhammad al-Sayyed Zaif passed away on Monday.

He was an eminent Qari who frequently recited Quran in TV and radio programs and official ceremonies.

Born in 1945 in a village in Egypt’s Dakahlia province, he began learning the Quran by heart at an early age.

Soon he became a memorizer of the entire Quran and later began learning Quran recitation styles.

At 15 he mastered the recitation styles and began reciting the Quran in different programs and official ceremonies.

In 1984, he joined Egypt’s Quran Radio as a Qari and soon gained prominence as an internationally acclaimed reciter.
