4 Contenders Compete on First Day of Tunisia Int’l Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Four of the participants in Tunisia’s 16th international Quran competition showcased their Quranic talents on the first day of the event.

 

According to DMCA website, the contest got underway at Malik bin Anas University in the city of Carthage on Saturday with a speech delivered by Tunisia’s religious affairs minister, Ahmed Azum.

The four contestants on the first day of the event were from Oman, Algeria, Jordan, and Bahrain.

Named after Allamah Bin Arafah, the competition will run until Thursday.

It is being held on memorization and Tafseer (interpretation) of the Holy Quran.

Other countries participating in this year’s edition include Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iraq, and Qatar.
