Martyr Hojaji’s Funeral Slated for Wednesday
The IRGC’s Public Relations Office in a statement invited the faithful and revolutionary people to massively take part in the procession and once again showcase their national unity and commitment to the sublime ideals of the Islamic Revolution.
Hojaji, a member of the Iranian advisory support team in Syria and a "holy shrine defender”, was taken captive by the Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) Takfiri terrorist group near the Iraqi border in early August and beheaded later.
On August 30, based on a ceasefire deal between Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah and Daesh, the body of Martyr Hojaji was delivered to Hezbollah to be returned home.
The shrine of Hazrat Zeinab (SA), a sister of Imam Hossein (AS), the third Shiite Imam, is located in Damascus, Syria. Iranian military advisers have played a decisive role in the protection of the holy shrine against terrorist attacks.
At the request of Iraq and Syria, the Islamic Republic has been providing advisory assistance to the respective countries’ armies in their fight against Takfiri terrorists.
